Shaving Cream Is Out — Meet My Favorite Shave Pillow
After trying this pillow, I'm never going back to regular shaving cream again.

I have a confession to make: when I first started shaving my legs a million years ago, I was obsessed with the Skintimate Raspberry Rain shaving cream. It may not have been called that exactly back then, but it was one of the only shaving creams decades ago marketed towards women (along with the Venus razor!).
Times have certainly changed since then and although I left Raspberry Rain in the dust years ago, I never really found a solid replacement. I am sure I should be yelled at, but shaving over the past decade has mostly consisted of using my bodywash, my husband's shaving cream, conditioner and whatever else to ensure I didn't get nicked while shaving. Call me a lazy shaver.
I felt like shaving cream, which was once a fun and messy thing to play with in the shower, just became a nuisance. I could get the job done much faster without it. Judge all you want.
So, when I was gifted the Hanni Shave Pillow, I figured I would try it but likely just put it aside like any other shaving cream. Boy was I wrong.
This little gel stick rolls on like deodorant and leaves no residue. It is not super sudsy like soap and not at all fluffy like traditional shaving cream. It almost creates just a slick surface for the razor to glide on. As a bonus, it can double as a bodywash and body moisturizer if you are in a pinch while traveling.
Their whole brand motto is lazy skincare for busy people. Sign me up!

Hanni also sells a metal weighted razor that people go crazy for. I haven't tried it yet, but the shave pillow works great with a regular razor as well.
The shave pillow isn't just a less messy substitute — it also makes for a closer shave. Even better? You don't need to be in the shower or use water to make it work. Simply rub in the product after you are done shaving.

Another bonus is that it smells amazing. Not fake fruity like Raspberry Rain, but rather more masculine notes of bergamot and jasmine, the type of scent I love when I light a candle.
The only drawback is the price. The shave pillow is $24, far more than your average shaving cream, but it's also easy to travel with and less messy than traditional shaving cream, so depending on your shaving needs, the benefits might outweigh the price.
Pros
- Hanni provides a closer shave than traditional shaving cream.
- The easy-glide stick means less mess and simple application.
- It can substitute as a bodywash or moisturizer.
- The stick has a soothing, enjoyable scent.
Cons
- The price is steep for a shaving product.
- It’s more expensive than traditional shaving cream.
