In my continued quest to improve the overall appearance of my skin and to up my at-home skincare routine, I decided to try the red light therapy wand that is catching the attention of celebs, influencers, and skincare gurus alike: the Solawave 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Wand.

Just do a quick search on TikTok and you’ll see plenty of users trying out the wand. With claims that it will reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles, blemishes, and puffiness, I was down to give it a try myself.

So, here’s my honest review of the Solawave 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Wand.

What Is the Solawave 4-in-1 Facial Wand and How Does it Work?

Think of the Solawave Wand as a tiny magic wand for your skin and muscles. This handheld gadget uses red light therapy, gentle heat, vibrations, and microcurrents to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and blemishes. It’s sort of like a personal spa treatment at home.

The red light stimulates collagen production, making your skin look and feel smoother and younger. The heat helps to reduce puffiness, perfect for those mornings you have to wake up extra early. The vibrations help your skin absorb skincare products better, so it can really get into your skin and pores and work its magic. Finally, the microcurrents give your face a little lift by painlessly stimulating deeper layers of your skin to tone facial muscles.

Directions:

  1. Start with a clean face.
  2. Apply the Renew Complex Activating Serum that comes with the wand. You can also use a serum that you already have or a conductive gel. You want the wand to glide across your skin, so the serum is important.
  3. Press the power button for two seconds so the wand lights up and vibrates. The wand will gradually warm up to 105.8°F. Very specific, right?
  4. Gently sweep the wand over your jawline, cheeks, forehead, under eyes, and neck, spending three minutes per zone for a total 12-minute treatment. The brand includes suggested facial patterns to try with the wand.

The brand suggests using the wand at least three times a week to see results.

Who Is the Solawave Best for?

The Solawave wand is best for anyone who is committed to daily skincare routines. So, if you are the type of person who usually goes to bed with their makeup on and forgets to moisturize most days, this might not be the device for you. Yes, I’m talking about myself but I’m really trying to change my ways and at the very least I always moisturize. So, that’s progress!

However, if you want an at-home device that is small, easy to use, and non-invasive, this may be a good fit for you.

Bottom Line

If you're looking for an at-home skincare device that offers relaxation and may enhance your skin between spa or dermatologist visits, the Solowave Wand could be a good fit for you and your daily skincare routine. However, if you are expecting immediate and significant transformations, consulting a dermatologist or an esthetician might be a better option. I really loved adding it to my weekly routine, but I have to admit, some weeks I just ran out of time and didn’t use the wand. However, the weeks that I did use the wand, I loved the results and the feeling of my skin. My plan is to continue using the wand in addition to my growing list of lotions, toners, and serums.
