We first met Syngin on 90 Day Fiance Season 7, when he met Tania in his homeland of South Africa. She was there to meet another guy, but ended up connecting with Syngin instead. The two tried long-distance, but ultimately decided to live together in America.
Syngin arrived in New York on a K-1 Visa.
Soon after his arrival, he and Tania had a conversation about the future. Tania wanted kids as soon as possible, but Syngin felt like he was just a character placed in her story. They both agreed to hold off on the big conversations and allow Syngin to settle in first.
Syngin and Tania were living in a shed behind Tania's mother's house in Connecticut. Syngin focused on house and yard work while Tania went to Costa Rica for a month to study herbal medicine.
Syngin felt that Tania's communication was lacking during her trip. He called, Skyped, and texted her as often as he could in hopes that she'd have a minute to chat.
Syngin and his longtime friend, Tjaart, caught up over drinks. They both lived in the same South African town and came to the United States. They bonded over the transition and emphasized how different life in the US was. Syngin also confided in Tjaart, mentioning that Tania said he may not be her soulmate.
Finally, the big day was here. Tania and Syngin tied the knot!
Instead of exchanging traditional wedding rings, they opted for Sagittarius (the travel sign) tattoos instead.
The adventure continued on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? Season 5. Tania and Syngin moved into their own apartment. Although that was a big step, they needed to find a new source of income to pay for it all.
Syngin set out to find a job. He interviewed at a pub, and although he and the owner bonded over moving to America, he was unable to pour a proper beer from the tap.
Later on, he reunited with his mother, Charmain, and his sister, Charys, in Cape Town, South Africa. Although they were happy to spend quality time with Syngin, they also made sure to voice their concerns about his marriage.
He was extra emotional when he visited his brother, Dylan, who recently experienced a medical emergency. Syngin realized how much of an impact living so far away in the United States had on himself and his family.
Despite the couple's best efforts, their rocky relationship came to an end and they officially separated. Syngin was once again single and ready to mingle.
Next, Syngin and his long locks appeared on 90 Day: The Single Life! Although he and Tania were separated, they were still living together and didn't have clear boundaries set. In an attempt to find himself again, he visited a psychic and spritual life coach for some guidance. According to her, Syngin was destined to meet his soul mate outside of Connecticut.
Syngin worked up the courage to tell Tania that he wanted a divorce. The room was filled with emotion, but they both knew it was the right decision. Then, they both broke the news to Tania's mom, who just happened to be Syngin's sponsor. To say the least, she was not pleased.
His friend, Phil, convinced him to set up an online dating profile. He hesitantly agreed and moments later, he was swiping right.
Syngin was interested in dating all sorts of people. He felt very open to everyone and everything, including blondes, goth girls, and nuns.
