Feeling the Bad Weather Blues–This Meteorologist has an On-Air Meltdown Over Endless Winter
Listen, this long winter is not his fault.
It's been a long winter with plenty of cold weather, gray skies, and small hints of spring that are quickly taken away. While most of the country is feeling frustrated as they deal with winter weather this far into spring, there is one person who feels he has taken the brunt of our anger, and he's had enough of it.
Meteorologist Gary Frank, who reports the weather on Fox 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan wants you to know that winter has been hard on him too. In the now viral, weather report, Frank breaks from the typical jolly demeanor we have come to expect from TV meteorologist and explains why he's had it with viewers and colleagues blaming him for simply doing his job---predicting the weather. "You guys are dragging me down. Every time I get done with the seven-day (forecast), you guys are like, 'Ughhh, goshh, ahhh,'" Frank said to his fellow anchors after they shared their dismay over the weather. "What do you want me to do, lie to you? I'll put 70 every day next time."
From off camera, one of anchors can be heard saying "Well what are we supposed to do?" Frank claps back with "I want you guys to say 'Wow! That's great news it's going to be 60 on Friday.'" Fair enough.
Even though spring technically began last month, most of the country is still feeling frigid temperatures, While we should look at the seven day forecast and be more optimistic when there is at least one nice day per week, not everyone is feeling all glass-half-full about the weather. But come one, this has felt like the longest winter ever. It's time for spring and sunshine. So while we shouldn't blame meteorologist for being the bearer of bad news, hopefully the weather changes soon and we can all complain how hot it's going to be.
