I Tried 3 Teeth Whitening Methods and This One Gave Me the Brightest Smile
Turns out, not all teeth-whiteners are created equal.

One of my goals this year was to focus more on self-care. I don't have a lot of disposable time, so I wanted to find simple and affordable beauty and skincare treatments I could do at home. After searching for some options this month, I found myself eager to try out teeth whitening products.
I decided to test out three different teeth whitening products from Amazon to see which ones worked the best on my teeth. Here's what I liked and didn't like about each one.
Boka's Whitening Toothpaste
I'm the type of person who buys self-care products and forgets to use them, which is why I was excited to try out a whitening toothpaste. That way, no matter what, I'd remember to use the product twice a day. After reading the reviews, I decided to try Boka's Whitening Toothpaste.

Pros of Boka's Whitening Toothpaste
Some teeth whitening products aren't easy to use, which is why I initially liked this toothpaste. The texture and mint taste were also a bonus. It made my mouth feel so clean after every use. The formula includes nano hydroxyapatite, which is known to repair and strengthen your teeth.
While I didn't feel those effects, it made me feel good knowing I was using a toothpaste with that in it.
Cons of Boka's Whitening Toothpaste
After using Boka's Whitening Toothpaste twice a day for a week, my teeth started to feel sensitive. I noticed some gum pain and tingling that I didn't have before.

While I liked the taste and texture of the toothpaste, I saw a minimal difference in my teeth. My teeth weren't as white as I'd hoped they would be after using the product.
AsaVea Smile's Bright White Teeth Whitening Pen
I've heard of whitening toothpaste and strips, but I've never come across a whitening pen before. I was looking forward to trying out AsaVea Smile's Bright White Teeth Whitening Pen, especially because it fit nicely in my purse and I could carry it with me while on the go.

Pros of AsaVea Smile's Bright White Teeth Whitening Pen
It was very easy to use the whitening pen. I just twisted the bottom, smiled widely and brushed it onto my top and bottom teeth. I left the liquid on my teeth for around a minute before washing it off.
Unlike whitening strips, the pen made it easy to make sure all the spots on my teeth were covered evenly. After using this for a week, I noticed that my teeth were a shade or two whiter.
Cons of AsaVea Smile's Bright White Teeth Whitening Pen
The liquid had a very strong smell that I didn't love. When the process was over, I had to wash my mouth out several times to clear that taste. It's also advertised that each pen is good for 40 uses, but after using the pen for a week, there wasn't much left.

I noticed some gum and tooth sensitivity, but not as strongly as with other products that I tried.
Lumineux Teeth Whitening Strips
I've used teeth whitening strips in the past but was excited to try out the ones from Lumineux since they are advertised as nontoxic.

Pros of Lumineux Teeth Whitening Strips
I loved the more natural ingredients these white strips used, including salt from the Dead Sea, coconut oil and lemon peel oil. The strips didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth once I took them off.
I also didn't experience any sensitivity when using these strips for a week, though I did notice whiter teeth.
Cons of Lumineux Teeth Whitening Strips
It's advised to leave the strips on for 30 minutes, which is longer than any of the products that I tried. There were some days when I was in a rush and only kept them on for five to 10 minutes instead, but I did still see results even with this shorter timeframe.

Still, the strips were tricky to apply and it took me a while to master how to put them on correctly so they would adhere to my teeth and not shift.
The Winner: Lumineux Teeth Whitening Strips
After testing out three different teeth whitening products, I found that I had the best results and the least sensitivity with the Lumineux Teeth Whitening Strips. Going forward, I plan to use these once or twice a week and apply them when I'm able to rest on the couch so that I don't have to worry about wanting to talk or eat while they are on my teeth.
Since I don't plan on kicking my coffee habit any time soon, this product helped keep my teeth white and I'm glad I got my hands on it.
