I Tested 3 Products to Hide My Hair Loss — Here's the Best One
This was a lifesaver for my postpartum hair loss.

After having my first baby, I noticed that my hair started to fall out faster than it ever had. I'd be in the shower and see hair floating near the drain or find clumps on my hairbrush. But the hardest part of my postpartum hair loss was that it greatly impacted my self-confidence.

When I'd go to style my hair, if I even dared to pull it back, I'd be able to see all the areas where my hair was thinning or missing.
Even though it's been almost two years since I had a baby, my hair hasn't fully grown back. I decided to try out three products that help hide hair loss and here's what I thought of each one.

KERATIN RESEARCH Hair Concealer
I've never tried to cover up my hair loss before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I decided to start by trying a hair loss concealer. I picked the one from KERTAIN RESEARCH because it came with two different brushes — a thin one and a larger one for bigger spots — and seemed easy to apply.
I applied the hair loss concealer to both sides of my head where my hair is very thin or still missing. I used the big brush so that I could dab it on lightly.
Pros of the KERATIN RESEARCH Hair Concealer
The color matched my roots well and provided good coverage that lasted for about four hours. It was easy to apply and the came in a compact case that I could bring with me while on the go.

Cons of the KERATIN RESEARCH Hair Concealer
After applying the hair loss concealer to my roots, I did feel my scalp itch more than it usually does. This faded throughout the day, but did last for the first hour that I applied the product.
I also found myself nervous that the hair loss concealer would rub off on my or other people's clothes, as it did when applying it. It was quite messy until I got the hang of lightly brushing it on.
StyleShark's Hairline Powder
The next product I tried, StyleShark's Hairline Powder, was similar to the previous hair loss concealer, but it comes in over 12 shades, which made it easier to find a color match for my hair. They advertise that this hairline powder lasts for 24 hours, so I was excited to test that out.
Pros of StyleShark's Hairline Powder
The applicator brush was very easy to use and made adding the hairline powder to my balding spots very easy. I rubbed it in the powder and dapped it lightly on my head. Because the color match was so good, I also felt like this powder improved my fading hair color a bit too. I was tempted to put this all over my roots until my next hair color appointment.
Cons of StyleShark's Hairline Powder
I left the product in my hair for 24 hours and noticed that my scalp felt very dry. My hair needed to be washed and normally I can go 3-4 days before washing my hair.
While it did stay on better than other products I tried, some of the product eventually got on my clothing throughout the day, but didn't stain.

BOLDIFY Hair Fibers Powder
I wanted to try a product that I didn't have to directly brush on my hair. I found BOLDIFY's Hair Fibers Powder and decided to give it a try. Instead of brushing the powder on, I took the container and sprinkled the fibers onto the areas of my head where my hair was thinning. After that, I patted the area to blend the fibers and used a hairspray to lock it into place.
Pros of BOLDIFY Hair Fibers Powder
Being able to sprinkle the Hair Fibers Powder onto my hair made the application of the product easier. I could apply just a little at a time and press it into my hair.
Doing this felt like I was using less product. I noticed that the coverage lasted longer because of the application process.

Cons of BOLDIFY Hair Fibers Powder
The product did come off faster than other products that I tested. Even though I liked being able to apply it with my hands, I noticed that throughout the day my hair looked a little discolored and you could tell that the product was in certain areas of my head but not others.
Out of all the products, this one didn't blend in as well.
Bottom Line
After trying out three different products to help hide hair loss, I found that StyleShark's Hairline Powder lasted the longest and blended nicely. While the bottle isn't as small as other options, it was still easy to pack in my work bag and apply throughout the day if needed.
I'll continue to use this product since it helped boost my self-confidence and gave my hair the refresh that it needed.
