Coding is a skill almost everyone should have these days and Code.org makes it easy and fun. This always free site is full of amazing projects and activities that help you learn to code. Make your own app, draw something cool or even make your own game!
Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems
Author and illustrator Mo Willems (of Elephant and Piggie fame) is the Kennedy Center’s current artist-in-residence and he’s been doing daily doodling every day at 1 p.m. EST. Learn to draw your favorite characters from his book or just the art of doodling. All you need is paper and a marker or crayon. This one is fun for the whole family.
Two Whats!? and a Wow!
If you want a break from looking at a screen, head to the podcast world where Guy Raz and Mindy–hosts of the podcast Wow in the World!–launched a new daily podcast called Two Whats!? and a Wow!, which is an interactive science game show that offers STEAM challenges to solve each day.
Cooking Classes via Chicago’s Kids Table
Being stuck at home offers a great time to cook and bake. Chicago’s kids cooking school, the Kids Table, has taken to the internet to help your kids learn healthy cooking skills. The classes are free–but throw them a donation if you can–and will cover dishes like black bean tacos and breakfast skillets.
