1000-lb Sisters: Tammy's Most Heartwarming Wins

Sitting Pretty

Tammy was ready to leave the facility she was living in so she could return home. However, she was doubtful about the trip back. Her brother, Chris, had faith that she'd be able to sit in the back seat without needing to sit on the floor. Tammy surprised herself that day when she got into the car and fit nicely in her seat. Small wins like that made her even more motivated.

Trach-Free Tammy

When Tammy returned home, she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was so happy to show off her neck, noting that her trachea tube was finally gone. She even invited her siblings to touch the area, which was now a small dimple.

A Weigh-In to Remember

Tammy and Chris visited Dr. Smith to check on their progress. She weighed in at 420 pounds, which was a pleasant surprise for both her and the doctor. Her new achievements pushed her to keep up the good work.

"A Healthy Poop or a Good Fart"

Tammy went to sister Amy's OBGYN to discuss fertility. She didn't think she'd be able to have children before her weight loss, but wanted to see what her post-op options were. She discovered that she was down to 375 pounds! Tammy being Tammy, she jokingly attributed her lower weight to "a healthy poop or a good fart."

Dancing Queen

Tammy and her family took a Zumba class together and she moved and grooved like a pro! She was out of her wheelchair for most of the class and had the best time.

Pedicure Prize

A while back, Tammy was unable to climb the stairs at her local nail salon. One of the techs made a deal with Tammy, that if she came back and could climb the steps, she'd receive a free pedicure. And so, Tammy returned to the salon after her signigficant weight loss and got her toes done.

Breathing Her Best

Tammy and her family planned a trip to Pensacola, Florida! The ladies prepped for their vacation and went swimsuit shopping. Tammy's sister, Amanda, said she was proud of Tammy for getting through their shopping day without needing to use oxygen.

Infrequent Flyer

Tammy never flew on a plane before, so her family trip was the perfect opportunity! She shocked herself by fitting into a single seat, but that was only the beginning of her wild journey. The turbulence shook her to her core, but after a while, she got used to it and actually enjoyed the adrenaline rush!

Big Steps for Tammy

When Tammy and her siblings arrived in Florida, she was able to climb the front steps of their rental. On a previous trip, she didn't even attempt doing so. This moment showed just how far Tammy had come — in both her physical abilities as well as her determination.

Beach Babe

Tammy couldn't believe how gorgeous the Florida beaches were. Until she lost weight, she assumed she would never see the beach in person. She was so grateful for the experience.

Down 400 Pounds

Tammy had lost over 400 pounds since entering rehab and she was finally able to things she never thought she'd be able to! She could cook on her own, put on her shoes, cross her legs, and so much more after losing weight. Her excitement to experience new things kept her motivated, but her loose skin was definitely the next thing she wanted to address.

Driving Lessons

Tammy was scared of driving, but part of her wanted to learn and add it to her list of accomplishments. So, Chris took her out to the golf range for a low stakes driving lesson using a golf cart. Although Tammy was nervous, she was proud of herself for taking the cart for a spin.

The Climb

During a family trip to London, Tammy was challenged to climb a tight set of restaurant stairs. The stairs led to her family's table and she wanted to prove to herself and her siblings that she could make it all the way. She was already tired, but she pushed herself to make it up the stairs and continue enjoying her vacation.

One Step Closer to Skin Removal Surgery

Tammy continued losing weight and met with a group of doctors who planned to perform her surgery. Finally, Tammy received good news about skin removal and the experts mapped out how everything would go. However, there was one thing Tammy had to do before she'd get approved. She'd have to quit vaping.

Seeing Someone New

Tammy revealed a new love interest in her life! She and Andrea matched on a dating app and had a special connection. Tammy absolutely lit up with Andrea around.

A Reiki Breakthrough

Tammy booked a reiki session for energy healing. She experienced a rush of emotions and felt cleansed of the negative energy she was harboring. After the session, Tammy felt free and said she was ready to move forward in her life and her new relationship.

Floating to the Top

Tammy didn't want to sit on the sidelines anymore while her siblings engaged in fun activities. She joined them in the water and had the best time in a pink donut float. She said, "Since I can't eat the donut, I guess I'll wear it!"

To Tammy, it felt like everyone was a kid again!
