Follow these instructions to make this cinnamon-sugar donut recipe at home!
Celebrate National Donut Day with a recipe straight from Carlo's Bakery! Buddy Valastro passes the torch to his youngest son, Carlo, to show us how to make some delicious "Hoboken-style" cinnamon-sugar donuts (with a little help from his mom and older brother Marco)!
Here's what to do if you'd like to make these yourself:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter (unsalted)
- 1 1/4 cups milk with a dash of vanilla extract
Add flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon to a large mixing bowl. Add egg, melted butter and milk. Mix to combine ingredients.
Add the batter to muffin or donut pans.
Bake at 350 for 14 minutes, or until golden-brown.
Let them cool for about 5 minutes in the pan while you mix a combination of cinnamon and sugar. Once the donuts have cooled, dip the donuts in the cinnamon-sugar mix, and enjoy!!
