Bride-to-be Shaela arrived at Kleinfeld Bridal with her mom, Lisa, and her Matron of Honor, Kellie. She trusted their opinions when it came to the aesthetics for her wedding dress. An accident when she was a teenager caused Shaela to lose her vision.
Right away, Shaela began feeling nearby dresses and sorting through the materials she liked. That was her special way of visualizing a dress through touch.
Consultant Lisa introduced Shaela to Randy through video chat. Shaela explained that she would need to feel out the dresses, both with her hands and on her body, to choose her perfect gown.
Then, the future bride shared her story. Just before her 16th birthday, Shaela and her sister were driving home from church. A driver under the influence crashed into their vehicle and Shaela was thrown through the rear windshield. Her injuries were critical. Miraculously, she pulled through and beat the odds. Despite the loss of her vision and the lingering worry that she would never find her person, Shaela worked hard at her recovery and met the love of her life, Tyler, in the process.
And so, she was on the hunt for a gown that both she and Tyler would love. She enjoyed the beading on the first dress she tried on.
She tried on the second dress, but she wasn't crazy about how it felt. She wanted a little dash of sexiness and this dress just wasn't doing it for her. However, her mom and Kellie were enamored with it. She considered picking it, but not before trying on her third dress — just to see what it would feel like.
She was stunned by the beading and different textures on the third dress. It immediately felt more interesting and intricate than the others and she hadn't even tried it on yet.
When Shaela stepped onto the pedestal, she knew this gown was the one. She loved how it felt, and that was the most important thing.
Shaela's mom was flooded with emotion at the sight of her little girl in the gown of her dreams. After the accident, she didn't know if she would ever see Shaela grow up and get married. And ten years after that frightful day, Shaela was choosing a dress.
With her loved ones by her side, it was time for the bride-to-be to make her final decision.
Shaela said yes to the dress!
This wasn't just another appointment at Kleinfeld Bridal, it was a moment that none of these women would ever forget.
