Cake Boss Buddy Valastro Baked Gigi Hadid’s Birthday Cake
The everything bagel cake brought her to tears.

As a surprise for 25-year-old model Gigi Hadid’s birthday, her team coordinated with the Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro, to bring her the cake–or should we say bagel–of her dreams!
When interviewed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Gigi, who is expecting her first child with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, admitted that her pregnancy cravings have her eating a bagel every day. So, Buddy was inspired to create a sweet lookalike of her breakfast favorite.

Buddy created a spectacular everything bagel cake with vanilla and chocolate sponge and buttercream filling. Looking at the structure, it’s hard to believe it’s not a real bagel! The sponge appears perfectly toasted, the sprinkles mirror delicate poppy seeds and the cream looks lusciously whipped. Gigi was wowed!
“The icing on the perfect bday was finding out my surprise everything-bagel-cake was made by the one and only Cake Boss [Buddy Valastro], who I have watched for over a decade,” Gigi wrote on Instagram. “I CRIED REAL TEARS! BUDDY! This is a dream come true. I can’t believe you made this cake for me while the bakery is closed. It means more to me than than you know, and when we hopefully meet some day, you will truly know that there almost isn’t an episode I’ve missed. 10/10 would be a Carlo’s intern whenever needed.”

Gigi shared photos from her birthday, including one of her being brought to tears by Buddy’s birthday surprise.
“Hey Gigi… I wanted to wish you a happy birthday,” Buddy said in a video he sent her. “I hope you enjoy the cake. I’m a huge fan, it was my absolute pleasure, and I hope you have the best birthday ever. God bless!”
The model’s birthday was a delicious success!
