This Swarm of Bees Attacking a NYC Hot Dog Cart is a Thing of Nightmares
This is my worst nightmare.
Imagine this. You're enjoying a nice, humid summer day in New York City. Exploring the sites of Time Square, perhaps getting ready to catch a Broadway play. All that walking around and site seeing is sure to make one hungry, and is there anything more New York than a hot dog? We think not....and we're not the only ones, apparently, an entire swarm of bees thought the exact same thing, who can blame them, a street dog is absolutely delicious. According to Animal Planet, a bee swarm is formed a there's a new honey bee in town and the "old" queen bee decides to leave and form a new colony with about 60% of the original bee colony, after all, there can only be one Queen Bee, just ask Regina George.
It just so happens that this colony was founded on a NYC hot dog stand. Which may not have been the best place...since they didn't stay too long.
NYPD authorities were called to handle the situation, in which their professional beekeeper gently and safely vacuumed up the bees in order to move the new hive to a new location. And of course, this is exactly the type if mid-day thrill Twitter users love.
Let the bees have times square.
