17 David and Annie Moments We'll Never Forget
From their stunning engagement ceremony to David's comical standoff with a turkey, these two experienced so many unforgettable moments. Look back and get ready to say "OMG" at these iconic David and Annie memories from 90 Day Fiance!
How Much Baht You Got?
In Thai culture, the groom gives the bride’s family a "Sin Sod" or dowry in order to show their financial stability and support. David went through financial troubles after his divorce and when Annie asked him how much he could put into the dowry and their 11 baht wedding, his answer wasn’t to her liking. Annie worried that her family wouldn’t approve of David and cause them to end their relationship.
An Emotional Dowry Approval
David was moved to tears when Annie’s family agreed to a 50,000 baht (about $1,500 USD) and two water buffalo dowry for the time being. Eventually, he would pay the remaining 450,000 baht they initially asked for.
An Engagement to Remember
What an engagement ceremony! David and Annie danced with people in the village as they all walked together to her parents’ home. The couple handed out envelopes of Baht just to get into the house. David officially asked Annie’s parents for her hand in marriage and they exchanged rings.
A Bach Gone Wrong
During their joint bachelor/bachelorette party, things turned sour. Annie didn’t like how much David was drinking at the bar and they got into an argument that quickly escalated into a public fight. Annie wasn’t sure if she still wanted to go to America, but David did his best to apologize and make things right.
Sponsorship Reveal
David’s friends, Chris and Nikki, invited the couple to stay in their home in Los Angeles so Annie could get acclimated to living in the states. Unfortunately, Chris failed to mention to Nikki that as Annie’s sponsors, they were legally responsible for her for 10 years! When Nikki found out, she and Chris decided that David and Annie needed to move out, go to David's home state of Kentucky, and get on their own feet. However, they did offer to let David and Annie stay in a firehouse they owned and the pair accepted.
Welcome to the Family
David introduced Annie to his children, Ashley and Jacob. Ashley was skeptical of the couple’s relationship from the beginning. When she found out that David and Annie were already engaged, tensions grew and she threw a glass of water on her dad.
To Wed or Not to Wed?
Ashley revealed pieces of David’s past to Annie. The bride-to-be was in shock and walked out on David during the night, which officially put the wedding on hold. Annie was scared to marry David and get hurt, but David swore he changed and didn’t want to lose her. Tears were shed, emotions were high, but in the end, David and Annie agreed to keep loving each other and move forward with the wedding.
David and Annie's Big Day
Despite the obstacles and criticism they faced, David and Annie tied the knot! They cried, laughed, and kissed surrounded by friends and family. They couldn’t wait to start their new life together.
Rumors Rampant
Annie went out for a meal with Ashley in order to get to know each other better. Ashley told Annie that there were rumors she met David at an "inappropriate bar" in Thailand. Annie was taken aback by the accusation and flat out denied it. However, she took the opportunity to teach Ashley about Thai "ping pong" shows and other nightlife experiences. Their meetup started off shaky and awkward, but it ended with laughter.
Storage Unit Life
Chris sold the firehouse and gave the couple a few days notice before they had to move out. They were still struggling financially, so Chris hooked them up with a small space above a storage unit. Although it was a roof over their heads, it certainly wasn't the life they pictured for themselves. Annie could barely stand it there and considered moving back to Thailand, but she decided to stay and embrace the storage unit life with David.
A New Chapter
David and Annie moved to Arizona and started a brand-new business teaching people to cook online! They were finally finding stable ground and creating the life they had always dreamed of.
New Hair, New Me
David took the plunge and got hair restoration surgery to boost his confidence. Although Annie couldn't sit through the actual procedure, she fully supported her "boom boom husband" from the waiting room.
Bangkok Bash
On David & Annie: After the 90 Days, the happy couple returned to Thailand with the goal of taking Annie's brother, Jordan, and her cousin, Amber, back to the United States. But first, the couple met up with Annie's friend, Cindy, and had quite a "fire" night in Bangkok.
Gobbles Guaranteed
David felt pressure to finally pay off the rest of the dowry and prove he'd be a great guardian to the teens, so he went with Annie's father, Yut, to catch turkeys for the family. After a hilarious bout of chasing and ruffled feathers, David was successful.
A Beautiful Blessing
Annie led a traditional ceremony at a temple in her hometown to bless Jordan and Amber’s trip to America. Everything was gorgeous, from the dancing to the temple itself.
Runaway Brother
Jordan ran away the same day a special ceremony was planned, so David, Annie, and Amber drove around the village to look for him. Unfortunately, Annie reached her breaking point and sobbed — which was a side of Annie that David had never seen before. Luckily, Annie had her husband and her cousin there for support.
No Visa, but Lots of Hope
Unfortunately, Amber’s visa was denied and she couldn’t go to America with the couple. Although it was a somber moment for the whole family, they chose not to give up. It didn’t happen that time, but David and Annie were determined to go through the process with Amber all over again. Annie wisely said, "We might fail ten times or one hundred times. But if we win one time...We’ve won."
