Michael Jones

Before we had Jenny and Sumit, there was Jenny and Michael Jones (Sumit’s alias at his call center job). Sumit used the name Michael Jones at work and online, where he started talking with women and eventually connected with Jenny. After a while, Sumit fell for Jenny and came clean about his real identity. Luckily, the Michael Jones drama never came between the couple.

Holi for Two

Jenny and Sumit decided to keep their relationship a secret from Sumit’s parents (who already didn’t approve of Jenny). The pair celebrated Holi, a holiday that symbolizes new beginnings, alone and away from Sumit’s family. It was Sumit’s first Holi away from his parents, but the pair hoped that their new beginning would be worth it.

Secrets Revealed

Suddenly, the couple's secret was out and Jenny learned that Sumit was keeping a secret of his own. A man showed up at their door and introduced himself as Sumit’s wife’s father. The man alerted Sumit’s parents that their married son was living with Jenny and a huge blowout ensued in the couple’s apartment. Sumit was taken back to his family home and forbidden from contacting Jenny, who was left all alone.

Avoiding Haters

Ultimately, Jenny’s visa expired and she returned to America. Meanwhile, Sumit filed for a mutual divorce from his wife, but his father-in-law requested a whopping $20,000 for what he spent on the couple’s marriage. Luckily, Sumit’s parents agreed to help with the costs of the divorce, but they were still firmly against his relationship with Jenny. When his friends asked if he was avoiding their culture and acceptance in society just so he could be with Jenny, he simply replied, "I’m avoiding haters."

Sanctity Cow

Jenny and Sumit had their new apartment blessed to bring forth profits, purity, and health. Jenny was unfamiliar with the customs, but she was fully on board — until this cow entered their home. Although the cow was beautifully dressed and played a key role in "removing debts" for the couple, Jenny wasn’t too keen on her walking around inside.

"As Long As I'm with Him"

With Sumit’s divorce finalized, the pair looked toward the future. They planned to get engaged with a special ring ceremony. They informed Sumit’s brother and sister-in-law, Amit and Shree, but were met with disappointment. Amit insisted that he and Sumit’s parents would never accept Jenny’s age, which caused her to get emotional and completely break down. "It’s just a fact! We love each other. I’m happy as long as I’m with him," Jenny cried.

The Unforgettable Meeting

Knowing what they were up against, Jenny and Sumit invited his parents, Sahna and Anil, over to discuss their relationship. The situation quickly went south when Sahna told the couple they would get married "over our dead bodies." It turned into one of the most intense conversations from the couple’s journey. Sumit cried and begged, Sahna shouted threats, and Jenny stormed off. After all of the drama, nothing was truly resolved.

A Ring for Jenny

Despite what happened during the pair’s combative meeting with Sanha and Anil, Sumit proposed to Jenny anyway! After all this time, Jenny and Sumit were finally engaged.

Proper Posture

Sumit’s parents were about to move in with Jenny and Sumit for a short time to teach Jenny how to be the ideal Indian daughter-in-law. That meant that the newly engaged couple would have to give up their main bedroom and bathroom for Sumit’s parents to use. To make the transition easier, Sumit taught Jenny the proper toilet posture if she ever needed to use the spare bathroom in their home.

Cooking Buddies

Jenny and Sahna tried cooking in the kitchen together, but a language barrier made their experience quite difficult — and comical. Jenny couldn’t speak Hindi and Sahna couldn’t speak English, so the two went back and forth trying to understand each other without any luck. At one point, Jenny even thought she received a compliment from Sahna, but Sahna actually called her "useless" in the kitchen.

No Excuses

Jenny felt ill one morning before Sahna was supposed to teach her some new skills around the house. Unfortunately, Sahna didn’t accept it and made Jenny get out of bed. "Even if I have 3, 4, 5 cases of diarrhea, I’m fine," Sahna explained.

The Neti

After a yoga session, Sumits parents inserted mustard oil into their noses and pulled a neti tube from their nostrils through their throats to remove dust and clear out their sinuses. Jenny watched, but refused to try it herself.

A New Start

In a surprising turn of events, Sahna and Anil decided they weren’t going to stand in the couple’s way any longer. However, they weren’t going to give the marriage their full support either. Sahna cut Sumit loose in hopes that he would decide not to marry Jenny on his own. When Holi came around, the four of them burned a fire to represent a new start.

A Revelation

Sumit needed to come clean to Jenny about something very important. He revealed that he put a hold on their marriage application not long after they filed for it. He explained that he was nervous and brought up his previous marriage, but Jenny took the news hard, claiming that Sumit didn’t want to marry her. With Jenny threatening to return to America, Sumit assured her that he wanted a future with her and agreed to continue the marriage application process.

The Wedding

Jenny and Sumit finally tied the knot! After so many years of family tension, visa troubles, and defying cultural norms, the 90 Day Fiance couple held a beautiful Indian ceremony. Out of all the unforgettable moments from Jenny and Sumit’s love story, this one is definitely our favorite.

Jenny's Blowup

The couple sat down with Sumit's parents, his brother, and his sister-in-law and revealed that they were, in fact, married. Sumit's mom was livid with their decision and doubled down on her disapproval. However, Jenny couldn't understand the conversation and felt lost. Soon after Sumit's family left their home, Jenny let out all of her frustrations.

The Honeymoon of a Lifetime

The newlyweds traveled to Rishikesh for their honeymoon and it was full of adventure! Sumit initially wanted to go bungee jumping, but they both agreed on ziplining over the Ganges river.

Kama Sutra Yoga

Sumit suggested they take a Kama Sutra yoga class for some extra excitement. While the newlyweds tried their best to participate and take the poses and chanting seriously, they couldn't stop themselves from joking around.

Bollywood Moves

Jenny's daughter, Christina, and daughter-in-law, Jennie, visited the pair in India and they all decided to take a Bollywood dance class together. There were a few funky and improvised moves here and there, but in the end, they all had a blast and got the hang of the teacher's routine.

Double Whammy

Jenny and Sumit were both hiding things from each other. Jenny revealed that she spoke to an immigration lawyer about starting Sumit's visa process and preparing to move to America, where they would have a support system. After hearing that news, Sumit announced his plan to have a child (and get in his parents' good graces) and said he would want to raise his kid in India, not America. Jenny was gobsmacked, noting that she and Sumit already agreed not to have kids years prior.

Jenny Versus Big Ed

At the 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After Season 7 Tell All, Jenny was done listening to Big Ed judge everyone else's relationships so harshly. When he told her to "shut up," all bets were off. With the rest of the couples fully supporting her, she raised her voice and let him have it — and you bet she had the last word!

Anil's Acceptance

Perhaps the most important moment for Jenny and Sumit came when Anil finally accepted them as a couple. Although Sahna did not come around, Jenny and Sumit were beyond thrilled to have even one parent's blessing.
