The Best Apps for Connecting with Other Moms

If you’ve ever heard the saying "it takes a village," but you’re still looking for your village, maybe you need a new way to meet mom friends. Since dating apps have made it easier and more convenient for singles to meet potential new partners, a variety of apps have been popping up to help moms meet other moms. If Facebook mom pages are too broad, try an app.

Not sure where to start? Here are a few apps that will help connect you with other moms so you can plan a few play dates and hopefully find a few new friends that will help you through your motherhood journey.

The Peanut App

Using the data from your Facebook profile, the Peanut app will help you connect with like-minded moms nearby. Once logged in, you can swipe up to "wave" to a mom who you would like to chat with, or you can swipe down to skip their profile and move on to the next mom. The app isn’t just for new moms. In fact, it’s designed for women who are pregnant all the way up to mom of teens.

Social.Mom

The goal of this app is to connect you with other moms in your area. If you are looking for other moms to hang out with and to learn about some of the best parts of your community that you don’t know about (like the best playgrounds or picnic spots), Social.Mom is a great place to start. The app even has different features like their "Mom Academy" which has videos and articles that cover a variety of parenting topics and telemedicine, where you can get answers from family doctors, psychologists, and many more specialists.

Hey! VINA

While the Hey! VINA app isn’t just for moms, it is designed to be an app for women to meet new friends in their community. It’s set up like a dating app where you swipe to meet new friends. You can even join a few online communities or attend local events to meet other moms. You’ll start by taking quizzes to share a little about your personality and the types of friendships you are looking for from the app. Then, you can connect with new friends and invite others to join.

Sober Mom Squad

Looking for a squad of moms who are already sober, exploring an alcohol-free lifestyle, and everything in between? Sober Mom Squad is a way to connect to these ladies. You can connect, share, talk about the hard days of life and motherhood, and plan activities that don’t center around drinking or alcohol.

Bumble BFF

You may have heard of Bumble as a popular dating app, but did you know that you can switch your account to Bumble BFF and find other women who are seeking friendships? The app works in the same way, but instead of looking for dates, you are looking for your next mom bestie. If you are new to the city you live in or just new to motherhood, there are plenty of other ladies looking for friends just like you.

Nextdoor

While not an app that is designed for mom meetups, Nextdoor is a great way to find hyperlocal moms. If you haven’t already downloaded the app, give it a try. You’ll be able to connect with moms who are right in your own backyard.
