More Than Something Blue
The Pantone color of the year always seems to make its way into the wedding palate, but this year we love that it’s something blue – classic blue, to be exact. This timeless hue is a natural for weddings, from a pop of color in the décor to a focal fashion piece. Scroll through for some serious inspiration.
Mocktails and Cocktails
Use blue in an unexpected way to wow your guests, like in this mocktail put together by Paramount Events in Chicago. The blue hue comes from a blueberry syrup, complimented by white cranberry, lemon and ginger ale. It’s sure to be a tasty conversation piece amongst guests.
Bridesmaid Dress
We have a feeling that spring 2020 will bring a number of bridesmaid dresses in the classic blue hue like this one from designer Dalia McPhee. With a color like this, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this as a choice for wedding guests to wear as well.
Invitations
Invitations are a great way to bring in the blue. Regardless of whether it’s for the stationary or a blue ink twist on the typeface, blue adds a hint of distinction to any wedding announcement.
Shoes
Shoes are a great way to incorporate something blue into your wedding, so why not choose the classic blue color? We are swooning over this Badgley Mischka pair which adds the perfect pop of color to a white wedding dress.
Furniture
Furniture is a great, unexpected way to pull blue into your décor scheme. These classic blue chairs trimmed in gold add elegance to this stunning outdoor wedding-scape.
Wedding Dress
Who says classic blue can’t be a detail on the actual wedding dress? This gorgeous gown sticks to the classic white base but brings in beautiful floral designs that have a pop of the classic blue. It’s perfect for a southern or warm weather wedding.
Wedding Cake
Something blue and something sweet, wedding cakes are the perfect canvas to show off this classic color. This cake keeps it simple with a blue monogram and classic blue bottom tier.
Flowers
A bouquet can be a statement piece when it goes beyond the traditional pinks, whites and creams. Add some classic blue to your bouquet with flowers that have blue hues, like hydrangeas, orchids, irises or even roses. We love how the blue pops against the white flowers here!
Tuxedo
Classic blue has always been a great color to diverge from your typical men’s suit with, and it’s also a nice twist on the classic tuxedo. If a full blue tuxedo is too much, a blue bowtie can be a nice touch, too. Who says men can’t have fun with color?
Place Settings
When you think of place settings, blue may not be the first color that comes to mind but adding in this pop of color can really elevate any tablescape. These blue plates make a statement and almost float on the glass table.
