Awe-Inspiring Spots Turned into Wedding Venues

While churches and ballrooms are nice, familiar and even cozy, many couples are searching for out-of-the-box venues to host their wedding. Forget the beach, botanical garden or backyard, and dare to consider one of these creative locations.

400 Feet Over a Canyon

A couple that slacklines together, stays together. Ryan Jenks and Kimberly Weglin were able to share their special day together by saying their ‘I Dos’ while doing the thing they love most – being in the air! As slacklining enthusiasts, who balance on flat webbing that is similar to tightrope walking, Jenks and Weglin channeled their passion by suspending their wedding 400 feet in the air over a canyon in Utah and essentially tying the knot on a giant knot.

Elephant Sanctuary

Thailand’s Chai Lai Orchid is a nature retreat where guests can live amongst elephants and even get married! Enjoy nature walks, petting the elephants, resting along the rivers and waterfalls, and sharing wedding excitement with everyone you love.

On Top of a Volcano

Lava reaching temperatures of 2,000 degrees may be intimidating to some, but not for Lauren and Alex, who posed for wedding photos on top of an erupting volcano in Hawaii. The feat required a three-mile hike at 3:30 a.m. and standing barefoot on rocks beside lava, but the photos are breathtaking.

In a Treehouse

Take your childhood dreams a step further by hosting your wedding in a place similar to where they manifested. Treehouse Point is a bed and breakfast brand where guests can stay in one of six fantastical treehouses a in forest along the Washington’s Raging River. Wedding parties and those looking to elope can find intimate overnight packages for small groups.

A Pub

Krista and Daniel have been going on dates to the Jaynes Gastro Pub for years, so it seemed like the only logical place to host their wedding. With the help of some flowers, greenery and essential wedding signs, they were able to turn this modern saloon into a romantic setting to pledge their love.

Underwater

What bride hasn’t, at some point, wished she was a mermaid? Now is her chance! At Aquaworld in Canun, you can take your wedding under the sea. Packages include photo and video, because this will be a day the whole party will want to remember.

Mount Everest

James Sissom and Ashley Schmieder were married at Mount Everest’s base camp in 2017 after climbing for nine days. The wedding was almost called off that morning when Sissom suffered an asthma attack. However, after an oxygen treatment, they decided to push on and posed for their photos in negative-five-degree weather at 17,500 feet above ground.

Ice Caves

If you want startlingly beautiful and icey photos, the Big Four Ice Caves may be your ideal wedding venue. Situated in the Cascade Range of Washington, these glaciers are the lowest in the U.S. and draw crowds of over 50,000 per year.

Luray Caverns

Take your ceremony 10 stories underground in the Luray Caverns. After being discovered in 1878, the caverns see thousands of guests every year who travel to marvel at its mirror pools and stalactite and stalagmite formations. Hidden deep inside is a naturally acoustic room, where the formations are hit by bars that help summon beautiful tunes.
