These Shorts Are Part of My Mom Uniform — and I Bought a Pair for Every Day of the Week

As a mom who is always multitasking, I need clothes that multitask right along with me. From running around with my kids and sneaking in workouts to meeting friends for lunch and heading out on summer adventures with my family, I’ve finally found shorts that are comfortable and look super cute too. Plus, when I find something I like, you’d better believe I’ll be snagging it in every single color. So, this summer if you see me, there’s a very good chance I’ll be sporting these Blooming Jelly shorts from Amazon.
I first spotted these shorts on another mom when I was chaperoning my daughter’s field trip. After telling this mom that I loved her shorts, she sent me the link and I ordered the olive green and gray pair right away. Amazon suggested I order a medium, and reviewers said the shorts ran true to size. For reference I’m 5 feet 4 inches and weigh 145 pounds, and Amazon was right; the medium was the perfect size.
When the shorts arrived, I was impressed with the quality. The material was soft and stretchy, and they looked and felt like a dupe for a pair of shorts I would spend double or triple on at an athleisure wear store. The elastic waistband is stretchy and comfortable, and the length was perfect. I didn’t feel like the shorts were too short or too long.
Another feature that I love about these shorts is the side pocket that zips. Without being bulky or awkward, this zipper pocket is perfect for holding your phone, keys, or your ID. If you don’t want to lug your purse or diaper bag around, just take out the essentials and put them in your pocket. Ladies, I know how we all feel about a good pocket, right?
Also, I love that these shorts come in 37 different colors. I’m not kidding when I say that I’ve purchased one for every day of the week. Plus, I’ve got a few more colors currently sitting in my cart. From bright colors and bold prints to must-have neutrals, you’ll find colors that you’ll want to add to your closet. I’ve paired these shorts with tank tops, t-shirts, and oversized sweatshirts and they always look good together. I love when I can put an athleisure outfit together that looks complete and not mismatched.
Next up is a feature that I never thought I wanted in shorts, but here we are: the built-in underwear. If you are playing with kids on a playground or sneaking in a yoga class, you’ll never have to worry that you’re flashing a crowd because the built-in underwear are stretchy, comfortable, and give some extra coverage.
The true test of a pair of shorts: wearing them to Disney World. After hours of walking and plenty of Disney adventures (some that involved getting wet), the shorts never rode up on my thighs and the zipper pocket was perfect for holding my phone in between taking 3 million pictures of my kids. If these shorts can handle a Disney vacation, they’ve got my seal of approval.
