1000-lb Sisters: A Recap of Last Season

Amy & Tammy's Makeovers

New hair, new clothes, amazing confidence! Amy and Tammy hit up the salon and they both had fabulous makeovers. Amy noted that this was "the first step in our transition."

Tammy Tried New Things

Tammy lost over 400 pounds since her weight loss surgery and her increased mobility allowed to her to try things she'd never done before. From tractor racing (which got a bit scary!) to getting up close and personal with adorable farm animals, Tammy was thriving — and these new experiences were only the beginning!

The Bod Pods

Tammy and Chris both had the same goal this season: skin removal surgery. To prepare for their next visit with Dr. Smith, Chris suggested they both get analyzed by a machine called the "Bod Pod" to take a peek at their weight loss results so far. Chris was disappointed by his data, but this was just the boost that he and Tammy needed for some extra motivation.

The Family Weigh-In

Chris and his wife, Brittany, took a road trip to visit Dr. Smith with Amy, Tammy, and their sisters Misty and Amanda. Everyone used Dr. Smith's scale to see where they stood post-surgery. As a whole, they were close, but no cigar. Skin removal surgery was on the horizon, but it would take some more time and effort to get there.

Tammy vs. Amanda

During a family meeting, the siblings wanted to turn their weight loss goals into a friendly competition. This idea upset Amy and she left Amanda's house to avoid a fight. Then, Tammy (who already had a tense relationship with Amanda this season) defended Amy and tensions grew. Things escalated and Amanda told Tammy to leave her house — as well as the apartment she was renting out to Tammy at the time.

Amy's Shrimp Alfredo

Amy wanted to prove to her siblings that she could cook well. So, she whipped up a shrimp alfredo dish with a twist, infusing ranch seasoning and a secret ingredient: chocolate chips.

Her unique creation served as a peace offering after the family meeting gone wrong. Amy brought some over to Amanda's house and the two of them hashed things out.

The House Renovation

With 30 days to find a new place to live, Chris offered to let Tammy stay in the house he owned next door to his home. However, the space would need a bit of work. Brittany called the kitchen setup an "eye sore," but Chris was happy to renovate the home — and even happier about the free lawn mower he got from the purchase.

Gage & Glenn All Grown Up

Last season, Amy showed us how much her sons, Gage and Glenn, had grown! Amy said they were both so full of energy and looked almost identical to each another. She gave us a look at a typical outing as a mom and took them shoe shopping, even picking out a pair of heeled boots for herself. This was a milestone for Amy as she couldn't wear heels prior to her weight loss.

Driver's Ed

Chris took Tammy to the golf course to putt and practice driving. The golf cart was a step in the right direction for Tammy, who was scared of learning to drive a car. She got the hang of it and said it felt amazing!

Girls' Night

Amy and Tammy planned a fun girls' night, starting with a luxurious limo ride and a "charcoochie board" to snack on. The sisters took a burlesque dancing class and Amy had the time of her life practicing her new moves, while Tammy was still getting comfortable with her body. Later on, Tammy felt embarassed by Amy's behavior in the limo and their night ended with a spat where Amy left the vehicle and stormed off.

Luckily, they were able to move past it and focused their energy on planning a special family trip to the UK!

The Family 5K

The siblings took on a cool challenge together. They signed up for a 5K race and turned it into a fun family activity to look back on. Amanda and Amy even finished the race together!

Amanda's Move to Florida

Amanda announced that she was leaving Kentucky and moving to Florida. Her siblings were distraught and worried that she made an impulsive decision, but they accepted that she was going to do whatever felt right for her. They helped her pack up the rest of her things and waved her on as she drove off to her new home.

The UK Trip

The family finally made their way to London in order to learn more about their family history. No, they weren't actually related to the queen of England, but they found out something just as astonishing. According to a UK geneologist, their 9x great grandfather piloted the infamous Mayflower ship that brought the Pilgrims to America in the year 1620.

In addition to learning about their family tree, the siblings checked out popular London sites and scenery and tried out some traditional UK cuisine, like spotted dick.

Amy's Dating Life

With Amanda moving to Florida, Chris getting skin removal surgery, and Tammy working toward her own skin removal, Amy wanted to figure out her next chapter too. She had a sexy photo shoot and planned to use the pics on a new dating profile. Amy shared, "I'm looking for somebody tall, dark, and handsome, preferably with teeth and a little bit of hair."

Skin Removal

Chris underwent skin removal surgery after working hard to meet his goals! Tammy's doctor came up with a plan to tackle her skin removal in multiple surgeries focused on each area of her body. However, she'd have to quit vaping and up her protein intake before he would schedule the first surgery. Stay tuned to see Chris' results and the next step of Tammy's journey.
