Royals with a Paycheck
There are a lot of questions and speculation about how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make a living now that they have walked away from royal life. While the couple has said they plan to focus on philanthropic work, some have wondered what else will be in store for the Duke and Duchess. While senior members of the royal family are not permitted to hold regular jobs, there are plenty of royal family members that do work outside of Buckingham Palace. These royals may live like princes and princesses, but they have regular 9-to-5 jobs too.
Princess Beatrice of York
The daughter of Queen Elizabeth’s youngest son, Prince Andrew, has made a name for herself in the business world. She is the vice president of partnerships and strategy at Afiniti, an artificial intelligence software firm. She also works for a number of nonprofits and charities.
Princess Eugenie of York
Princess Beatrice’s sister is a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London. Princess Eugenie has an art history and English literature degree from Newcastle University. Like her sister, she too takes part in a number of charities.
Peter Phillips
As the oldest grandson of the Queen and son of Princess Anne, Phillips is not an HRH and does not carry out royal duties like his cousins. Since titles are passed down through the male line, he does not have one. He has worked at Jaguar, Williams F1 racing team and the Royal Bank of Scotland. He’s also appeared in commercial ads in China and is rumored to be the Queen’s favorite grandchild.
Zara Tindall
Peter’s sister is a champion equestrian who won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympics. She also has her own line of equestrian-inspired jewelry.
Lady Amelia Windsor
Cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, Lady Amelia Windsor, who is 36th in line for the throne, is a model who recently launched her own jewelry line and a line of shoes.
David Armstrong-Jones, Earl of Snowdon
Queen Elizabeth’s nephew is a well-known furniture designer, has worked at Christie's auction house in London and has authored several books on design and furniture. He is often photographed riding his bike to and from Royal events.
Lady Rose Gilman
Her parents are cousins to the Queen but Lady Rose’s resume is actually pretty impressive. She works in the film industry as an art assistant and has worked on two Harry Potter films.
