Kennedy in 1953, she wore an Ann Lowe-designed gown made from silk taffeta and with a portrait neckline and full bouffant skirt. She also wore her grandmother’s pared-down veil.

For her second wedding to baseball star Joe DiMaggio in 1954, Marilyn Monroe decided against a classic white dress. Instead, she wore a curve-hugging chocolate brown wool dress with a white Ermine fur peter pan color. She covered it with a simple black coat when facing the media frenzy outside of San Francisco City Hall.
