With Blayke and the quints running around, Danielle and Adam Busby often have a lot of cleaning to do. The couple manages to stay on top of things by getting their kids involved in the process. Though many children groan at the idea of putting their toys away, the Busbys have come up with these simple ways to make cleaning up easy, fast and fun for their girls.

Make Cleanup a Game

The Busbys give their quints three minutes to clean up a room, and Blayke holds them to it by working the timer and giving them updates! Consider the size of your space and the number of "helpers" in your family, grab a timer and try adjusting this exercise to fit your needs.

Split Up the Room into Different Play Areas

Organization can be made simpler by classifying what areas of the room are meant for different kinds of play. For example, playrooms with a reading corner on one side and a games-and-puzzles area on the other can provide an easy structure for your kids to follow when putting things away.

Add Photo and Color Labels to Bins

Do you have tykes who haven’t mastered their letters yet? Picture labels are the perfect solution. Stick decals of blocks, dolls and other toy categories onto bins so your children know just what belongs in each one.

Vary Storage Options

Having a lot of bins or cabinets can make a space feel smaller. Different storage options like hooks and open shelves allow you to free up precious square footage and maximize fun décor.
