Let’s hear it for the moms. The superheroes who fix every bump and bruise, coordinate all of the logistics and appease all of the picky eaters. The past few years have been especially hard for mom, so it’s time to celebrate her in a big way! This Mother’s Day let mama get out and try something new, treat herself or relish in one of her favorite activities that she hasn’t been able to do in quite a while. Here are some suggestions to get you started!

Someone Else to Cook Dinner

I am sure most moms would relish in not having to cook dinner for a night! Sure you could go out to dinner, but why not have a chef come to you? Set up a home omakase, have a chef come make mom's favorites or even try it yourself. Just be sure. to keep mom out of the kitchen for cooking AND cleanup.

Painting

Apple Pie painting where you can paint an awesome photo of your pet or places like Painting with a Twist where you can create a masterpiece while sipping wine are great options for the mom who likes to flex her creative muscles. Painting can be really relaxing, too.

Facial

Send mama to the spa! An hour facial may be just what she needs to revive herself. Choose from a relaxing facial to a hydrafacial or a collagen facial. So many options out there for mom. Grab a gift certificate to her favorite local spa.

Sound Healing

A moment of meditation can be relaxing and healing but sometimes it’s nice to do it with just a little more than sitting on your own with your eyes closed. Sound healing sessions, often called sound baths, are like a meditative concert with different sounds to help relax you. You can find a practitioner like Roxie Sound Healing in California or look into the surrounding yoga studios- many offer special classes or events on sound healing. And if you want mom to stay relaxed the entire day, go ahead and pick up some of her daily responsibilities, too.

Shopping

Mama may be returning to the office or just sick of wearing sweatpants. Give her a few hours of uninterrupted shopping time. Stores like Nordstrom let you book stylists for free who can help you catch up on the latest trends.

Game Night

Hit the town and have fun playing games whether it’s axe throwing, mini golf, darts or board games. Or you could go luxe with something like this shuffleboard at Abbot’s Passage, complete with wine and a grazing board while you play overlooking the vineyard.

Go on an Adventure

Why not go on a little family adventure? If it happens to be warm, look into something fun like an electric boat or even a kayaking tour. If water isn’t mom's thing, a hike is always great and you can find plenty of them on AllTrails.

Museum Tour

If mom is a theater, sports or concert buff, send her to a show! With so many great options, you’ll have no problem finding something. You can grab a gift card on Ticketmaster or a local theater.
