Here’s how to kick off summer with some camp-inspired family fun. From crafts to cardio to sweet treats to end the day, it’ll be one for the books!

First up, arts and crafts! Set up a station with materials for a few different projects. No matter how crafty and artistic your brood may be, there’s something for every family member.

With just a few simple materials like colorful beads, yarn, and embroidery hoops, build beautiful wind chimes to sway in the summer breeze.

Give your plants some pizzazz; no artistic ability required! Use washi or painter’s tape to create cool designs on terra cotta pots of any size, then paint around it with acrylic paint. Let the pots dry while camp activities continue, then peel off the tape at the end of the day and admire your creations!

From drab to fab! Have a pair of plain white sneakers? Use fabric markers to customize them to show off your style. Create simple designs or funky patterns with black marker and fill them in with favorite colors.

After a relaxing morning activity, move from crafts to cardio! Split into teams for some friendly family competition. Have fun with mixing up your teams: Kids can team up with adults, or have the kids face off against parents!

Start with a relay incorporating classics like potato sack racing and balancing eggs on spoons. It’ll bring out the kid in everyone! With an odd number of family members, someone from the smaller team can repeat the final leg.

Next, move on to an obstacle course challenge constructed with simple materials like pool noodles, hula hoops and plywood. Wood planks resting on two low buckets make instant balance beams, and pool noodle arches form tunnels to crawl through.

Sibling rivalry has never been this much fun! Nominate your fastest player to run through the course twice if you need to even out your teams.
