Easy Homemade Bread:
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 4 cups room temperature water
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup butter, unsalted
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 5 cups whole wheat flour
- 5 cups all purpose white flour
DIRECTIONS:
In an extra large bowl, add water and yeast to activate. Melt honey and butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Remove from heat and Add to the yeast and mix to combine. Add the salt and eggs and stir until blended. Add the flours and continue to stir until a shaggy dough forms. Knead until not sticky.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel. Let the dough rest, about 1/2 hour. Grease two loaf pans. Using just enough flour to keep the dough from sticking to your work surface or fingers, shape the dough into a loaf and place in a loaf pan. Add the dough to a cold oven. Turn on oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 1 hour.
Spinach Artichoke Dip:
INGREDIENTS:
- 14 oz artichoke hearts drained and chopped
- 1 cup fresh chopped spinach
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl mix all ingredients until thoroughly combined. Add to an 8x8 baking dish. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown. Serve with crackers, veggies, chips, whatever!
