Beautiful Photos from Sam & Citra's Wedding Day

Sam and Citra tied the knot on September 10, 2023. They exchanged handwritten vows in front of 30 guests at a farmhouse in Cameron, Missouri. The festivities featured "classic, traditional aesthetics," the couple explained.

They added, "We wanted a small and intimate wedding with both of our families in attendance so we could feel supported and celebrate with our loved ones. We were so happy that both of our parents were able to attend and left their own religious beliefs to the side to celebrate our union wholeheartedly."

They had a Muslim celebration. Citra’s mom gave her away and Sam's brother officiated.

And what about the cuisine?

Sam shared, "Originally, we wanted to offer Indonesian traditional foods at the wedding, but that was too spicy for us Americans! We landed with classic American small bites."

The newlyweds enjoyed a three-tier vanilla cake as well.

What was the best part of their wedding day?

"We were most looking forward to becoming one and having family from across the ocean be present in the celebration. We were so happy that everyone got along during our special day," they shared.

"Getting married means being together by each other’s sides, finally! Not doing distance anymore makes us so happy. We are truly one now."

Sam and Citra have many plans for the future already. They are "most excited about building a life together and creating opportunities for both of us to grow further, maybe get a place of our own. It’s my (Sam’s) dream to buy a nice modern house for Citra."

It was such an unforgettable day.

Sam and Citra admire "each other’s nonjudgement and pure, unconditional love for one another. We’ve never met anyone like each other and feel as deeply as we do for each other."

The couple gushed, "Our wedding with everything that it was, was the happiest day of our lives."
