Amy Schumer Calls Meghan Markle Her Pregnancy "Nemesis"

Meghan Markle truly has the pregnancy glow. However, funny lady and fellow mom-to-be Amy Schumer is not quite glowing during her pregnancy. In fact, for Schumer, pregnancy has meant a lot of morning sickness, trips to the hospital, and feeling a lot less glamorous than the Duchess of Sussex. So Schumer has jokingly decided to create her own hilarious version of the mommy-wars with the Duchess.

Markle, who is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry, has been traveling the world and turning heads with her chic pregnancy style. Schumer, who is also expecting her first child, announced just one week after the Royal baby reveal that she and husband Chris Fischer would also be parents.

"Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he's the father," Schumer told The Los Angeles Times. "I look forward to competing with [Meghan] Markle every step of the way."

During an interview with InStyle, Schumer joked about how hard it is being pregnant at the same time as the Duchess of Sussex and said Markle has become her “nemesis.”

“Why is she my nemesis?” Schumer joked. “Because she’s pregnant at the same time as me and [I’m] not going to let her get away with that.”

She adds that for her, pregnancy has been rough, but Markle seems to be breezing through her pregnancy. “So maybe I’m feeling competitive, like, ‘Oh, Meghan looks better than me and she has a tiny small bump and she’s wearing high heels, and I already look 10 months pregnant and I’ve been wearing flats for the last four years.'”

Schumer has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is persistent morning sickness that can be dangerous for pregnant women because it can lead to dehydration and weight loss. The Royal family is familiar with hyperemesis gravidarum because Kate Middleton suffered with it as well. Schumer has had to cancel a number of her stand-up comedy shows because of being sick but kept the joke going at the performances she could attend. "You know who it's not fun to be pregnant at the same time as? Meghan Markle!" she quipped, according to Business Insider. "She's walking around in heels and cradling her baby that's not even there, and I'm barely wearing underwear."

Not feeling well when you’re pregnant is rough, so at least Schumer can keep her sense of humor about it all. Who knows, she may even earn herself a playdate with the Royal baby in a few months.
