They may be Royals but Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are just like every other kid in springtime — they just want to be outside. Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton recently took their children to see a garden that Kate designed at the Chelsea Flower Show and, via Instagram, we got to see the young Royals enjoying the spring weather.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared photos of George, 5, Charlotte, 4, and 1-year-old Louis playing in the moss, gathering sticks and picking flowers alongside their parents. George sweetly told his dad that he would rate his mom's garden as a "20 out of 10." High praise from the young prince! Meanwhile, Charlotte squealed with delight and exclaimed "ooh la-la" as she ran around the wooded area with her brothers.
“I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for young children,” the Duchess told the BBC. “I really hope that this woodland that we have created really inspires families, kids and communities to get outside, enjoy nature and the outdoors, and spend quality time together.”
Kate has been working on the garden for months alongside award-winning landscape architects in order to create a woodland space for families and the community to come together.
While the Duchess has been busy working on this garden, Prince Louis has been working on his own new skill — walking. In one photo, we get to see the little prince toddling while sporting a navy sweater and red romper that used to belong to his big brother, George.
After an afternoon of fun with her kids, the Duchess received more guests in the new garden. Kate welcomed a group of school children who explored the grounds, as well as the Queen herself, who checked out Kate’s hard work.
The young Royals clearly enjoyed their outing and, maybe in a few years, they can take their new cousin Archie for a playdate in the garden, too.
