If you’ve been wanting to switch to a natural deodorant, but you really don’t want those around you to suffer for your experimentation, I completely understand.

I have tried so many natural deodorants, and I’ve learned that, while there are a lot that really don’t get the job done, there are some that really, really do. I’ve rounded up some options below that I’ve personally used and can truly vouch for. Many of them (oh hey, Helmm!) smell like actual heaven as well. Shop my favorites ahead.

Helmm

This is my personal favorite deodorant, and I really think it’s the best I’ve ever tried. Not only is the natural option great and aluminum-free, the scents are so good that I need them in a body spray immediately. Like, right now. Coastline and Night Market are my absolute favorite scents, and I’m not sure I could choose between the two. They were crafted by French perfumer Cecile Hua, so that’s who I’m blaming for my newfound addiction. The texture of the deodorant is also amazing. Sometimes natural deodorants can lean too far into the realms of either chalky or creamy, and this one strikes the perfect balance while lasting all day. You can also buy refillable cartridges that perfectly fit into the stylish cases that come with every starter kit.

Biossance Squalane + Magnesium Deodorant

I don’t know if you have a brand in your life that has truly never let you down, but that’s Biossance for me. They could release a wart remover and I can almost guarantee you that it would be great. This deodorant is no exception. The squalane helps moisturize and soothe your underarm skin, while the salt content helps absorb sweat. It won’t stain, and it definitely won’t go anywhere, even during a workout.

Each & Every

These natural deodorants are available in a lot of different scents, but the coconut and lime is a particular favorite because it smells like the beach. This natural deodorant is on the creamier side, but I’ve found that it works really well and definitely lasts.

Drunk Elephant Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream

Not only does this brand always have amazing packaging, their products really do live up to the hype. This deodorant is no exception. Billed as a deodorant cream it perhaps goes without saying that the formula is quite, well, creamy. It uses mandelic acid derived from almonds to gently kill any bacteria that may cause odor.

Native Deodorant

This deodorant smells amazing and it’s a great choice if you're looking for a natural option that can actually take you through a workout. The coconut and vanilla scent offers a warm, beachy vibe that it’s seriously impossible not to love.

Tom's of Maine Long-Lasting Aluminum-Free Natural Deodorant

This deodorant says it’s for men, but it’s been a favorite of mine for a while. The mountain spring scent is super fresh and clean, which is a nice break from the typically sweet smells of some deodorants. This one also goes on super smoothly with a formula that isn’t thick.

Malin + Goetz Bergamot Deodorant

This deodorant is great because, in addition to being free of parabens, sulfates, aluminum, alcohol and baking soda, the scents are also free of any synthetic fragrance additives. The bergamot scent smells amazing, and the formula uses the bergamot extract along with probiotic enzymes to neutralize odors.

Megababe Rosy Pits

Not only is this deodorant natural, it smells amazing without being too floral, even though the scent is distinctly rosy. It also has antioxidants so that it nourishes your underarm skin — this way you’re way less likely to have post-shave razor burn.

Kopari Natural Aluminum-Free Coconut Deodorant

This deodorant is formulated with activated charcoal, and it goes on like a dream. The charcoal helps draw out toxins, so if you’re prone to breakouts or little bumps, it’s a great option. It also has coconut oil to keep your armpit skin feeling moisturized.

Necessaire The Deodorant - With AHA

This deodorant uses mandelic and lactic acids to control any odor, and this duo does a great job. It also uses a mineral complex to comfort the skin, and to keep it from any irritation that typically comes from deodorants or shaving.
