I’m a firm believer in making a big fuss over your children’s birthdays. It doesn’t matter if your kids are babies or teens — on their birthday, it’s always fun to find special ways to celebrate them and let them know that you think they’re pretty fabulous.
If you’ve watched my Birthday Morning Hacks video and were thinking "Hey, I’d like to do some of those things for my kid’s birthday," then you’re in luck. I’ve created a shopping list for all of the items you’ll need to make some birthday morning magic in your home. Between the video and the items on this list, now you just need a birthday kid to celebrate!
"Happy Birthday" Donuts
Read on for tips, tricks, and all the products you'll need to make this special birthday treat!
Letter and Number Cookie Cutters
If you want to whip up the "Happy Birthday" donuts, you’ll want to get these cookie cutters. Of all my recent purchases on Amazon, these have quickly become my new favorite item. Plus, they were the secret to making the donuts in just a few minutes, and honestly, I can’t wait to use them for other recipes. While I was making the donuts, I kept saying "these are actually pretty great." If you’ve ever used cookie cutters that aren’t the best, you know exactly what I mean.
Each letter and number is around three inches in size and each cutter is sturdy and durable, even though they are plastic. Added bonus: the edges aren’t sharp, so they are perfect for kids to use too. They even come in a large plastic container, so you can store the cookie cutters until you are ready to use them again.

Oil Sprayer
This handy gadget is perfect for spraying the right amount of oil inside your air fryer and then topping your donuts. Instead of buying cooking spray, I use this oil sprayer instead . I’m saving money, and honestly it's fun to use!

Air Fryer
To make the donuts in just a few minutes, this is the air fryer that I use. While I’ve used a few different air fryers in the past, this one has quickly become my favorite. It’s easy to use and has a variety of settings, so you can make dinner, dessert, or snacks in just a few minutes. If you’ve been thinking about getting an air fryer, this is the one you should snag. It’s straightforward and easy to clean up too.

Rainbow Sprinkles
For the birthday donuts, you’ll want good quality sprinkles, and this is the brand I used. Not only were the sprinkles tasty, but I didn’t have to worry that they would crumble and fall apart when added to the donuts. Here’s a tip: You'll probably use more sprinkles than you expect! You may be thinking "these are just sprinkles," but if you’ve had low quality sprinkles (yes that’s a thing), you'll appreciate these from Wilton.

Stackable Bowls
A question I get on so many of my videos is "where did you get those glass bowls?" So, I’m sharing them here! This set comes with ten different bowls in a variety of sizes, from large to small. If you are mixing batter for a cake or you want to measure out a few tablespoons of seasoning for a recipe, you’ll have a bowl to use. I always feel like I’m starring in my own cooking show when I use them.
I’ve had these bowls for years and they are all still in great condition. When it’s time to store them, they are stackable and won’t take up too much space in your cupboard.

The Best Balloons
And finally, my favorite product for achieving perfect birthday balloons.
Helium Tank
Hear me out on this one. If you’re trying to put together a birthday surprise for your kids, but you can’t sneak out of the house to fill the balloons with helium — or by the time you are ready to surprise your kids with the balloons, they are floating on the ground and not flying high — this tank will come in handy.
I actually got this idea from a friend who was tired of paying a party store to inflate balloons only to get home and the balloons were looking pretty sad from being in a car. It’s been perfect for late night or early morning party prep.
