Children’s’ Books that Promote a Second Language
It’s no secret that exposing children to a second language when they’re young is great for their development. In fact, studies have shown that it improves cognitive abilities, boosts your child’s problem-solving skills and it makes it easier for your child to develop empathy.
If your little one decides to learn another language as an adult, having been exposed to a foreign language as a child they may learn new languages faster. And in a world that’s connected by the Internet, where we can easily access information in many languages and where a lot of jobs require bilingual speakers, you are doing a great service to your children by exposing them to different languages.

This is a great book for learning simple Spanish words. The pages have images and the corresponding name of item in both English and Spanish. It’s great for children ages 1 and up. However, if you’re looking for something geared towards an older child, get this one instead.
