In-Laws in America

Pedro, Chantel, and her family attended a counseling session to try and ease the tension between them. Pedro confessed that although he wanted Chantel's family to feel like his own, he felt that nobody had his back. Then, he revealed his plan to have his mother and sister, Lidia and Nicole, come to live in America with him. There was so much friction between Pedro's family and Chantel's, and Chantel herself had no idea about this bombshell. Everyone was taken aback.

A Private Investigation

Chantel's parents already investigated Pedro and his family, so casual sleuthing was nothing new. Mama Karen and Chantel teamed up with a PI to find leads about sister Winter's then-boyfriend of six years, Jah. Once they had their receipts, the duo confronted Jah about having a nine-year-old child — whom Winter knew nothing about.

Drinks Thrown

When Chantel accompanied Pedro on his trip to the Dominican Republic, she urged him to sit down with his sister, Nicole, and her then-bestie, Coraima. Chantel wanted to address how Pedro and Coraima danced together and brought up the comments that Coraima made regarding Pedro, like that he should "be with a Dominican woman." Coraima fessed up to making the comments and doubled down, saying he should be with a Dominican "like me or whoever," with a mischevious grin. That cut Chantel to the core and she threw her drink at Coraima!

Holiday Hysteria

The family arranged a holiday photo shoot, but things were anything but merry. Winter confronted Chantel about her lack of genuine support during her weight loss journey, and Chantel was upset with her brother and future sister-in-law, Royal and Angenette, for bringing up her behavior during a girl's night out in front of the entire family. Emotions were high and feelings were shared. In the end, everyone put on a smile for the photo shoot.

Wedding Crashers

The family flew to the Philippines to attend Royal and Angenette's wedding, but their invitation was quickly revoked. Angenette was accused of talking to several American men online in hopes of obtaining a green card, which led to a blowout fight. Angenette didn't want Royal's family to come to their wedding, but they weren't about to miss his big day. So, the family showed up anyway!

Family History

The family met with a historian in South Carolina to learn more about Karen's ancestors. He was able to trace her family tree back to a specific plantation and showed everyone a book with information and photos of their relatives. To Karen, it was so important for her kids to find and recognize their roots.

Hey, Brother

Pedro wanted answers about his mother, Lidia's, relationship with his father. Pedro never met his father, but knew that he had a wife and kids at home while he was with Lidia. So, Pedro met up with his two half-brothers to get some clarity about the father they all shared. He learned that his circumstances were very different from theirs when they were growing up. Their father would say he's away "on business" and went back and forth visiting each family. However, Pedro never got to meet his father face to face. It was an eye-opening experience and although the meeting didn't change Pedro's situation, he was glad to have this much-needed conversation.

A New Season for Winter

Winter and Jah split up for good and she decided to make some changes in her life. With support from her family, she underwent weight loss surgery and got back into the dating game! It was great to see Winter's confidence rise after her breakup.

A Surprise Visit

After telling Pedro she was going go a conference, Chantel secretly flew to the Dominican Republic to speak to Lidia. She wanted to meet with Lidia alone to discuss her and Pedro's relationship and all of the events that created a divide between the families. Chantel showed up at Lidia's door — unannounced — and confessed that her and Pedro's marriage was in trouble. Despite all of their problems in the past, Lidia told Chantel that she wanted them to stay together. This was such a happy moment for Chantel — and one that she never expected.

The Beginning of the End

Chantel and Pedro decided to separate for a while, but their relationship just didn't improve. Pedro felt that they were growing apart and after speaking with a lawyer, he asked Chantel for a divorce.

Moving On

Draining bank accounts and swiping belongings. Chantel and Pedro didn't trust each other anymore and moved forward in different directions. Chantel packed her things and Pedro announced he was officially filing paperwork for their divorce.
