After seeing the success that Michael has had on Dr. Nowzaradan's program, Roni is determined to get approved for weight-loss surgery.

Michael's progress has slowed since surgery. He still struggles with what's an appropriate amount to eat, even admitting he sometimes eats until he feels sick.

Reluctant to attend regular therapy sessions, like Roni, Michael's anger has gotten increasingly out of control.

Steadily dropping the weight, Dr. Now gives Roni the good news that she is ready to take the next step in her weight-loss journey.

After undergoing an endoscopy to confirm she's good to go into surgery, Roni is told that she still has more work to do before she'll be able to go under the knife. Later she proves that she is ready for weight-loss surgery and is able to undergo the procedure.

Roni and her daughter, Briana, spend time together. Briana, and her brother, DJ have been Roni's biggest motivators in living a healthier lifestyle.
