For a bride that is looking to skip traditional wedding dress styles and go for a gown that is bold and on trend, the ‘naked’ wedding dress may be the perfect fit. These barely-there gowns are covered in lace, sheer fabrics and flesh-toned linings, and according to dress designers, they are on many brides' "Must Try On" list.

One design company that's already seeing a growing demand for naked dresses is Grace Loves Lace. Many brides already know this designer because they are behind the most pinned wedding dress in the world, with 2.5 million pins. While the trend for naked dresses has been on the rise, this style will be all the rage in 2019 with a 30-percent increase in brides choosing a more sheer dress.

"Brides these days realize that dressing as a bride shouldn't be a restrictive or rule-driven process – it's actually an extension of your normal style and it's your opportunity to show your best self and your unique self," Grace Loves Lace founder Meghan Ziems told Harper's Bazaar. "Plus, it’s that one opportunity you have to truly experiment with your style and express it through a gown you will only wear once. So a lot of that boldness and individuality comes out as they design their perfect day, they in a way get to design the dress with us too."

For brides that are loving the sheer look of naked dresses, designers are also producing full gowns and jumpsuits that embrace the trend. Many of the dresses give the illusion that the bride is simply draped in yard of gorgeous lace and it is stunning.

If you aren’t totally sold on the look, there are many options where only the top is sheer but the skirt is a solid fabric. With this style, brides can be on trend but also leave a little more to the imagination. Many designers are also offering the option to swap out the flesh-colored linings for a little less naked look. Plenty of options are available for any bride looking to create her own daring and bold walk-down-the-aisle look.
