Sometimes, parents have to be creative about how they get their kids to listen. There can be times when, as a parent, it feels like you are just talking away and nobody is listening. A possible solution? Breaking out the technology.
Speak your kid’s language when checking in on their homework progress by stealing this tip from Reese Witherspoon.
The mom-of-three revealed on Instagram that her favorite method of checking in on her kids is through Snapchat. Using a filter that gives her pink pom-pom ears and a black bunny nose, the Oscar winner posted a message to her kids asking, "Are you really doing homework? Or are you playing Fortnite?"
Even when she’s calling out her kids, the 43-year old still looks beautiful.
We aren’t sure if she was sending this Snap to 19-year-old Ava, 15-year-old Deacon or 6-year-old Tennessee, but our money is on Deacon.
“How to talk to your kids on Snapchat. What even is #fortnite?” Witherspoon captioned the accompanying Instagram photo.
This isn’t the first time that Reese has resorted to using Snapchat to reach out to her kids. A few months ago, she shared a similar image, but this time she used a giraffe filter with the message “Go clean your dirty room.”
In previous interviews, the star has said her kids “will Snapchat me back, but they will not call me back.”
Maybe they will ignore a call or text, but how could they possibly ignore a Snap from their mom?
So, it seems that stars are just like us. Not with the whole glamorous red carpet lifestyle but considering the fact that parenting teens often means resorting to ridiculous behavior in order to survive.
