New mom Meghan Markle is officially on maternity leave after welcoming baby Archie in May, but she still wowed crowds when making an appearance at Queen Elizabeth’s 93rd birthday at the Trooping the Colour parade.
The Duchess rode in a carriage alongside her husband Prince Harry, Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince Charles’ wife Camilla.
While the Queen’s actual birthday is in April, she celebrates in June every year with the annual Trooping the Colour. According to the Duke and Duchess’ official Instagram account, “Trooping the Colour originated from traditional preparations for battle and has commemorated the birthday of the sovereign for more than 250 years.”
The event, which is said to be one of the Queen’s favorite celebrations, has 1,400 soldiers in ceremonial scarlet coats and bearskin hats, 200 horses and 400 musicians who all march past the queen. Thousands of spectators line the streets each year to watch the pageantry and to get a glimpse of the Royal Family.
The parade ends with a 41-gun salute fired by The King’s Troop, and the Queen and Royal Family watch the Royal Air Force fly over the Buckingham Palace.

While we love seeing the Queen enjoying the celebration, as well as the pomp and circumstance, it’s the stunning photos of Meghan Markle that we just can’t get enough of. In her beautiful suit and matching fascinator, the Duchess is picture perfect.
While Prince Harry has made a few public appearances since the couple introduced Archie to the world just two days after his birth, this is the first time we have seen the new mom publically. Clearly motherhood looks good on her. Now we just need some updated pictures of little Archie alongside his parents!
