Adorable Grandfather Tried to Film a Proposal but Only Filmed Himself
It’s the proposal we can’t stop watching. Actually, it’s the proposal we never saw but still can’t stop watching. And we have a sweet grandfather to thank.
It's the proposal we can't stop watching. Actually, it's the proposal we never saw but still can't stop watching. And we have a sweet grandfather to thank.
John Hart, 71, was vacationing with his family in Albuquerque, New Mexico, when he met a man who was about to propose to his girlfriend of eight years. The man handed his phone to Hart's younger grandson and asked him to record the big moment. However, the boy turned the recording duties over to his grandfather.
Hart, who is a grandfather of seven, was thrilled his new friend was getting ready to pop the question and happily took on the duties of capturing the moment on video. However, there were some technical issues
"It was quite a mistake but I guess it put a smile on a lot of people's faces," Hart told "Good Morning America" Wednesday. "So that's a good thing."
When Hart started filming, he had the camera on selfie mode. So rather than catching the big moment between the couple, we only see Hart's sweet response as he watches the proposal unfold.
The crowd that gathered around the couple cheered and congratulated the newly engaged all while Hart is grinning ear to ear in the now viral video. While we won't get to see the proposal on camera, Hart's reaction is worth watching over and over.
"When he got down on his knees and opened up that ring box, the smile on her was so big and that's what it was all about," he said.
We hope the couple invites Hart to their wedding, but maybe this time, leave the recording duties to someone else.
